Carroll believes Napavine’s rapid development was set into motion nearly 50 years ago with the city water and sewer project, as well as through its newly established amphitheater which has hosted acts like Billy Currington and Dierks Bentley.

History

At its height, Napavine boasted six sawmills, two shingle mills and two column factories; as well as hotels, livery stables, feed stores, confectioneries and saloons; plus it offered healthcare services, two stores and general repairs services.

Napavine residents were inspired by a surge in boosterism and organized a club led by W. S. Blanchard, W. A. Morton, H. D. MacDonald and C. B. Mann who became trustees. These men strived to keep Napavine clean and improve it by repairing sidewalks, cleaning vacant lots and premises and clearing away obstructions from streets.

Napavine’s history is filled with both tragedies and triumphs, yet one thing has always remained constant: Napavine’s desire to grow while maintaining high standards of living for its residents. Today, Napavine boasts an ever-expanding population of 1,500; yet its future still hangs in the balance as growth may require the sacrifice of some unique heritage; this delicate balance must be carefully considered when making decisions regarding growth in Napavine.

Napavine boasts a vibrant economy with many small businesses and local shops thriving within its boundaries, in addition to several top restaurants – making it an attractive location in which to live and work.

Office and Administrative Support Occupations, Production Occupations, Sales Related Occupations are some of the more prevalent occupations; with Public Administration and Construction accounting for some of the highest-paying industries.

Education

Parks are also an integral component of community life. Serving as recreational hubs and providing a space where families can come together, such as Napavine Community Park. WWRP recently awarded this park with a grant to assist in its development.

Napavine is governed by a council that represents its citizens’ best interests. These members work tirelessly to make sure the voices of residents are heard when making decisions that impact Napavine. Additionally, there are multiple political action committees which serve as information hubs about issues that impact both locally and nationally.
