Tumwater is a charming town, more laidback than Olympia or Lacey. It has plenty of character and plenty of small mom-and-pop shops for shopping needs.

I highly recommend living here to anyone. There are a couple of great breweries nearby and plenty of restaurants to choose from. Plus, there are some lovely hotels to stay at while you’re here.

These buildings serve as a poignant reminder of Tumwater’s former glory when it was a bustling city with water-powered industries. The Old Brewhouse stands as an iconic reminder of this brewery that once served the community and is the last remaining remnant from that era.

The Crosby House is a historic home that dates back to 1860 and was originally owned by the Crosby family. Subsequently acquired by the Schmidt family, it now serves as a museum showcasing Tumwater’s colorful past.
