Lakewood Washington – Where Community and Nature Coexist Harmoniously
Lakewood Washington: Where Community and Nature Coexist Harmoniously
Lakewood is a city where you can find just about anything. This is a place with some of the most beautiful natural wonders around and quick access to one of America’s most active volcanoes. The city is also filled with places to shop, eat and stay. Whether you want to sleep in a 500-year-old castle, stay in a brand new suite or go on an international food adventure, you will find it in this Pierce County town.
For those who enjoy the outdoors, there are 14 parks in the city that total over 540 acres of land. American Lake is the largest lake and is perfect for kayaking and fishing. There is a quaint portion of the lake called Summers Cove that is great for families and even has a few ice cream trucks that visit during the summer.
This city is also home to two golf courses and a tennis center. If you want to hit the links, you can head over to Chambers Bay or Tacoma Country & Golf Club. The city is located just 4 miles from Joint Base Lewis McChord and many jobs are available at the base, as well as private companies like Multicare Health Systems.
This city is also filled with a variety of different ethnic restaurants. You can get delicious German baked goods at Hess Bakery or try the infamously spicy cuisine at Tacoma Szechuan. You can also shop at Lakewood Towne Center, which has 63 stores to choose from.
